Acquaintance with the “father of stones”
Immediately after the completion of the first stage of treatment for participants of the Doctor Life reality, an excursion was organized to “the Mountain of Salvation” Tashtar-Ata, which literally translates as "the father of stones". Their first introduction to this sacred place was at the very beginning of their arrival to the hospital – when the participants put their personal plates. The plates symbolize that each of the participants got a chance to start a new life.
This time, the participants gathered at the mound - on the flat spot at Tashtar-Ata, and listened to a legend about how this mountain appeared, its metaphysical purpose and rituals that the participants will have to make there during the final stage of treatment. Just like a brave “batyr” (a hero in the Kyrgyz mythology) once fighting here with the forces of evil for the freedom of the valley, the participants of the reality are struggling with their addiction problem.
Together with the psychologist the participants managed to understand the meaning of the "lapido-psychological therapy” - one of the components of the second phase of treatment. As it turned out, it is a work with a stone aimed at restoration of the addict’s mind, finding inner peace and removing the problems from the soul. Or as Andrey Kroshanov, the participant from Moscow said: "Treatment of the soul with the stone".
Later they all went up the stairs to the hawthorn that fulfills wishes. It is believed that if you will tie a ribbon on its thorny branches, a wish will certainly come true. So did our heroes with big enthusiasm. They will come back to this tree at the end of the project. By tying the second ribbon on the hawthorn, the participants metaphorically end their illness forever.
After a little tea party in the Kyrgyz yurt, the participants came down to the foot of the mountain, where they were to choose a stone that they will drop to the mound at the end of the pilgrimage. Up to this point the stone will always be with them as a guardian. By sharing their pain, fears and concerns with the stone, the drug addicts will project all their negative emotions and thoughts on it.
"It's like a flash drive", - Alex from Kaliningrad noticed in time, which made the other participants smile. Irina Anisimova was more interested in the question of what criteria should be used in the stone selection process. Angelina Demilkhanov, Cand. Sc., who was a tour guide, answered this question:
"Metaphorically, imagine the pain and heaviness in your soul. Then select the material symbol of this burden and pain in the form of a stone. The stone serves as a material symbol, on which mental problems, stiffness and tension are transferred with the help of the psychotherapeutic techniques. It's like a vessel, which is filled with negativity".
Some of the participants found their stones, even before they came down from the mountain. According to Gleb Antonov he didn’t choose a stone, but the stone chose him:
"I think that it has some power. I have the feeling that it already has a bad energy and my sins".
Victor Malleker chose a dark and smooth stone. According to him, this stone could reflect his life the best.
"My life was smooth, but black. I do not know, I just liked it. So I’m going to take it," - said Victor.
The rest of the participants were still wandering in search of their stone at the foot of the mountain, where any can see a panoramic view of the city and the Medical Center of Nazaraliev, where actually they are being treated.
Alex initially liked the two stones. To decide which of them to leave, he went as follows:
"I threw them in a pile with large stones, a little later I returned, and I thought, if now I’ll find one of them, then it will surely be mine. And I found this one".
The Italian contrary, approached this task from a philosophical point of view.
"I purposefully took the chipped stone because if we view it as a vessel, then for me it is open. All the negativity I'll pass to it will be easier to accept,"- he said.
Irina with Ekaterina also couldn’t make the right choice for a long time, but in the end they still did it. However, as a true hostess they were impatient to clean their stones as soon as possible. Andrey Kroshanov returned the latest.
"I found him at the top. It cached my attention immediately and it is like my life - all in the cracks,"- the participant shared.
With these stones the participants of the reality show will soon go to the mountainous southern shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake. The second phase of treatment - a complex "Mindcrafting" psycho-training will take place there.
