Time to gather stones
Southern shore of Issyk-Kul, met the participants of the Doctor Life reality with sunny, enveloping weather, mountain air and sobering hypnotic serenity. Only after seeing the amazing beauty of the place, where they had to spend about a week with your own eyes it became clear why the mindcrafting program is conducted here - complex of psychotrainings, breathing techniques and meditation.
Here, at 50 meters from the beach, stretches the yurt town with a wonderful view of the salt lake. Horizon is barely visible. It blends in with snow-white mountains that surround the Issyk-Kul. It seems like the time goes its own way here, and you are able to slow down or speed up the move. A minimum of civilization and a maximum of natural conditions of the place intended to help to put the guests in tune.
"The rapid temperature change and the lake with its invisible edges. Amazing place! It does not look like the Black Sea, it does not look like the Sea of Azov too, and I wasn’t in the Baikal to compare ..." - Andrey Kroshanov, one of the participants of the project says.
Once settled in their new "houses" and after dining, all eight patients immediately started to work. They had to prepare the ground for the future maze, which they were supposed to be built within 5 days. According to the psychologist Fatima Raimkulova, maze is one of the oldest symbols of humanity. In many cultures, it is used as an initiation ritual. Passage through a labyrinth symbolizes renewal, transformation, and rebirth.
"This was done to ensure that they have felt their implication in the maze in order to pass it successfully at the end. Passing it, the person needs to get to the center. And the center is a place where people find themselves. According to Jung it is a center of individualization. Includes the process of the new birth”, - the psychologist says.
However, to begin the construction of such an ancient and mysterious design, it was necessary to start prosaically. Namely, participants began to manually clear the area from the weeds, withered shrubs and collect the stones in one pile. Not all of the participants immediately involved in the process, and many of them didn’t like the physical labor at first.
"It was hard ... Move then relocate these stones. I was thinking why we have to put the stones here, if we can put them to the stretcher. Why are we doing a double work? You do not want to work? – I was asked. Why? I just want to work purposefully, not stupidly. And we were not allowed to smoke ...", - Irina Anisimova says.
While the girls were trying to act the maggot as students at a Saturday work, men worked in silence. The camera crew also was not jacking around, they managed to catch the needed pictures and record every move of the participants.
In between the work, the newly-qualified builders together with the psychologist did several exercises on group cohesion, trust and confidence.
In short, the first working day was quite productive. The ground has been cleaned, all the stones collected. Because of a mild fatigue, this night in yurts under the light of a kerosene lamp, the participants will sleep especially sweet.
